What a Fantastic Weekend!

by CLR Insider on August 3, 2009

Despite the blazing heat, the intense thunderstorm, and the regular trials and tribulations of a challenging relay race, the Cascade Lakes Relay was a smashing success in its second year.  Teams battled the elements, supported each other and celebrated a tough and well deserved finish.  While we are all winners for having the courage and the strength to endure the race, there are a few teams that were just a little faster than most.  Here is the quick recap of results:

Wildfire Information

by CLR Insider on July 29, 2009

The Desert Ridge fire and the Williams fire near Glide Oregon are not currently posing a problem to the race.

However, HWY 138 is currently closed between mile post 29 and 36. Teams should plan accordingly and arrive at Diamond Lake Resort via Hwy 230 (Medford) or Hwy 58 (Eugene). Please consider alternate driving routes to Diamond Lake in case the road is still closed on Thursday and Friday. We will continue to monitor these fires. For More Information Click HERE.

Running in the Heat

July 21, 2009

If the current pattern of weather holds up for Central Oregon, we will be looking at some warm temperatures for much of the race.  While the evenings can be cool (they average in the lower 40’s, so be sure to bring the appropriate clothing), the heat is what we need to be sure we are [...]
